Healthy Open Faced Sandwiches

Blessed Sunday,

 open faced sandwiches

I for one can be the first to admit that smoothies aren’t always as filling as you want them to be, especially when you aren’t used to having them for breakfast. Kudos to all of you who are aspiring to live healthier lives however I know that sometimes you want something as filling as bread but if you trying to lose or manage your weight eating bread can be counter productive.

The perfect way to slim down your sandwiches is to skip the top slice of bread as done in the three recipes i am about to share, you can choose a healthier type of bread like rye ciabatta or brown bread and enjoy a filling, tasty and healthy meal in the morning or as a snack, heck go crazy and have it for supper if you want to. Life is too short to stick to the rules.

CHICKEN AND AVOCADO OPEN FACED SANDWICH  chicken and avocado open faced sandwich

  • French Bread
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Avocado
  • Grilled chicken

This down right delicious sandwich has been voted by me as the sandwich of the week. Its like having a chicken salad on a slice of bread. It’s an all in one meal, substantial, healthy, great tasting and just what you need to get you through the day or the perfect light supper too. Chicken is a high density low fat protein, and the complementary avocado is also packed with good vitamins and healthy fat.

EGG AND SPINACH OPEN FACE SANDWICH

  • French Bread
  • Sautéed Spinarch
  • Boiled Eggs

Eat this amazing sandwich for the Popeye effect, it has a load a vitamins and once paired with egg you have a meal and a half 😊

TUNA AND LETTUCE OPEN FACE SANDWICH

  • French Bread
  • Lettuce
  • Tuna (with finely chopped bell peppers and lime juice )
  • Cucumber

A tuna salad sandwich is similar to a nutrient-rich one-dish meal, especially if it’s topped with peppers like I just did with mine.  Even without extra toppings, the sandwich is loaded with protein and has more than 10 percent of your daily intake of 11 vitamins and minerals. Tuna is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, but stick with light tuna, it’s better than the rest

I’ve received a lot of requests for recipes from some of my fabulous readers who want to manage their weight, lose weight as well as eat healthier. I hope you guys like these recipes and if you want more of these recipes or if you want me to share anything else just let me know and I’ll get on it.
