Pamper Sunday: 3 sure ways to winter proof your skin

Congratulations to the money team and better luck next time to the Pacman team, to the rest of you who either have no idea what i’m talking about or really couldn’t care, happy Sunday. I hope yu all had a blessed weekend.

I was trying to figure out which DIY recipes I should share for this week’s Pamper Sunday series and it hit me, winter is fast approaching and most people I know are forever complaining about how their skin changes during the cold seasons.

I know winter skin can be anything but cute with chapped lips, cracking heels and flaky skin. Well, I have good news ladies and gentleman, winter  does NOT have to mean dry, uncomfortable skin taking action now will help winter-proof your skin and banish dryness altogether !!!!

These three natural facial masks are a sure means of guaranteeing your summer glow doesn’t turn pasty.

Humble Facial Mask: Banana and Milk

  • Add the banana and milk to your blender, blend the ingridients together and apply to your cleansed face for 20mins

Not only does  the humble banana offer so many beauty benefits for skin, its great for your overall health too! Rich in powerful anti-oxidants and moisture, banana will nourish and revitalize dry skin as well as sooth rough skin. If you have acne-pron oily skin, you can use bananas topically for oil control and to reduce further breakouts.

Pick me up facial mask: Oatmeal Milk and Honey

  • Add the milk, honey and oats into a blender , mix and apply to your face for 20mins

You all know I love honey. I trust in it 100% and that makes it the star of this mask. It helps replenish your skin, retain moisture and an added bonus is its an anti irritant which makes it great for sensitive skin. Honey is a wonderful antioxidant proven to help reduce impurities from the skin and help battle mild acne. It also helps restore skin’s texture due to its anti-microbial properties, and will help repair skin damage from the sun and daily environments.

This mask is gentle enough for all skin types, ideal for people prone to dry, flaky, and dull-looking skin.  Oats contain healthy fats that add moisture and hydration to skin. Oats are a great exfoliate for the skin, removing cellular build-up (dead skin cells) and allowing new, fresh skin to surface.  They gently remove dirt, oil, and bacteria from your pores without clogging your pores and will leave your skin glowing long after you remove the mask!

Milk is great for the skin because it will leave your skin glowing due to the low amount of acidity in it, which will restore your natural pH balance. It is also great for adding hydration to the skin and is great for soothing sunburns or irritated skin. It will add intense hydration to your skin without clogging your pores.

Hero Facial Mask: Carrot and Honey

  •  Mix the carrot and honey to a blender and apply to your face. Relax and allow it to rest on your face for 20mins

This here mask has super ingredients, which is why I call it the hero face mask. Carrots have an ingredient called retinol (Vitamin A) which  not only enhances eyesight, but also is an important anti-ageing vitamin. It creates wonders on skin when applied naturally.

Try this face masks when you do your pamper routine. Check out my DIY Facial steps if you aren’t sure how to go about masking your face. Feel free to share any mask that have worked for you in the comment section, I would love to know them and try them out.
